A Poem for the Press - from Poet Pete

PPPS (Littleton)—In response to new revelations of press misconduct and administration lying related to the Libya Consulate Terrorist Attack, our poet-in-residence, Poet Pete, penned this poem.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?
by Poet Pete

To the Press in this country.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?

Don’t you care about your country?
Does the color of one man’s skin
    override everything?
Do you suffer from so much guilt
    that content of character
       has no meaning?

Is the fantasy of the left
    the only prism
       through which
          you can view the world?

How many dead Americans in Libya,
    or in America,
       or elsewhere,
    will it take
       to wake
          you
             up?

Or, if you believe
    that America is so bad,
    then how many
    dead Mexicans,
       or brutalized women
           in Muslim countries,
    or repressed
       and murdered
          religious minorities,
    or faux demonstrations
       about videos
           and cartoons?

How many failed spring uprisings
    which lead to
       new forms of tyranny
           will be required
              to focus
                 your
                    attention?

What does it take
    to finally awaken you?

What would it take
    to make you
        DO
            YOUR
                JOBS?

  1. Kudos Pete, well said and eloquently so. Much more than the W T H I can muster this morning.
Have the press all rcvd large payouts to turn their heads and focus only on big bird and the threat of terroristic obesity (Hillary anyone)?
